On October 25, 2024, the Japanese government announced the recipients of the 2024 Cultural Merit Award and awarded Satoshi Kawata, Founder and Chairman of Nanophoton Corporation, as one of the recipients.

The award was given in recognition of his outstanding achievements in pioneering and promoting the field of “nano optics” in applied physics, which has been widely recognized around the world.

The award ceremony will be held on November 5, 2024 at The Okura Tokyo hotel, followed by an invitation to a reception by His Majesty the Emperor.
